As a musician myself, not only have I seen a whole lot of CD covers (not to say cassetes and vynils!) and can connect easily with the band and its needs, I also understand the musician's world and specially the alternative scenes, as I've been a member for a many many years. Whichever your idea is we will make it happen, be specific with your concept or give me total freedom, let me hear your music and I will know what to do.

I've made CD covers for William Blackswan, Plasma Sons, Tornado, Devanagari, Glassfish Electronics and more!

Restoration of old or damaged photos can be approached in two different ways: fixing and restoring the original picture so that it looks as close as possible as when it was taken; or bring it one step further and give it a more contemporary look, even colorize it if you wish, it's up to you!

I can fix scratches, dust or any other blemishes that don't cover the whole image, sharpness issues (the limits are how sharp the original photo was!), decolorization, and more, even scan lines in most cases.

BEFORE WE START

In general, be as explicit as possible about your project when you write to me, the more details I have from the get go the easier it will be for both of us.

Digital Art
  • Tell me what type of crop you're thinking about (landscape or portrait) or what aspect ratio you need (16:9, 3:2, etc), if it is important for you.
  • For banners, flyers and projects alike, let me know the exact size you need, whether it be in pixels or inches/cm.
  • Take into account that this is still an artistic process and that I need certain amount of artistic freedom, which will in the end bring out the best of me.
Cover Art
  • Is it only the cover art itself that you need, or are you looking for a full book or CD design?
  • Please provide templates from your printing or distribution service, or let me know what standard you wish to use so that I can download them myself.
  • Have all the graphic material you will need in the CD or book (logos, sponsors, publisher etc)
  • I don't generally create logos, my recommendation is that you find a dedicated logo designer for this task. However, if you wish me to design your logo/s, let me know in advance along with any ideas you have for it.
Photo Restoration
  • If you're scanning the photo, try to avoid scanlines, as that makes the restoring job much harder and thus expensive.
  • Send me the image in the best format you can. Lossless formats that work best are (in that order) TIFF, PSD, PDF and PNG. I can work on JPG files but take into account that JPG images are compressed files and thus they have an additional quality loss that adds up to the photo's original damage.
  • Give me an idea of what you're looking for. Do you want the photo restored or improved? The colors, should they look like an old photo or a modern one?
  • In most cases, pictures can always be fixed further. Let me know your budget beforehand so that I know how much time will go into it.

Revisions, payment and delivery

Beforehand

I do both static budgets and hourly rates, you can choose whichever works best for you. In case of the former I will give you an estimate first, then track the hours and give you a price before sending the finished product.

Since I currently reside in Spain, payments must be done in Euros either through PayPal or via direct transfer through Payoneer. If you reside or have a bank account in Spain, we can also do a regular bank transfer.

The Process

I will send you a very basic sketch of the idea and if you like it we will go forward and I will ask you to deposit half of the wages at this point.

From half way through to later in the process (depending on the kind of project) I will send another preview, and you can let me know if it's ok or if it needs any changes. Keep in mind that big changes might increase time greatly and therefore the fees, hence why it's vital that I have as many details as possible beforehand.

Concluding

I'm still open to changes after I send the final image, however I do consider it extra work and I will ask for an hourly rate until the image is finished.

I will send a low res preview of the final result so you can check it out. After payment is done, I'll send you the completed artwork in its original size in the .TIFF lossless format and/or any other format that you prefer. If you'd like to have the original .PSD I can send it as well. I do not allow derivatives or modifications for reuse, but you can have fun with it.
